Server and Database Specialist – WINTEL & Unix. The purpose of this role is to ensure the normal operation and delivery of the WINTEL & Unix Server infrastructure through the provision of exceptional technical support and delivery of new infrastructure. You must have:
 Exceptional experience of supporting complex IT platforms
 Excellent experience of building, configuring and deploying complex designs
 Exceptional working knowledge of Server and Database infrastructure, this includes:
 Windows Server based operating systems (2003, 2008, 2012)
 Active Directory infrastructure (2003, 2008, 2012)
 Exchange infrastructure (2007, 2010, 2013)
 SQL Server infrastructure (2005, 2008, 2012)
 Citrix infrastructure
 WINTEL desktop client infrastructure and image creation (SCCM/Altiris)
 Anti-virus platforms
 VMware vSphere
 VMware Horizon View
 Mobile Device Management(BES, AirWatch or equivalent)
– Excellent PowerShell and scripting/automation exposure
– Excellent understanding of industry related initiatives
– Excellent planning, prioritisation and delivery skills
– Excellent planning and report writing skills
– Ability to work in a busy, fast moving environment
– Ability to write complex designs in support of new infrastructure delivery
– Experience of managing a complex licensing agreement in order to maintain relevant compliance
– Willing to undertake travel throughout the UK with the possibility of overnight stays away from home for short periods of time. Must hold a current driving licence
– Extensive VMware vSphere5 knowledge
– Experience in design architecture and documentation

• Provide expert advice to other areas on related technologies
• Develop an excellent level of understanding of the IT infrastructure
• Ensure the effective resolution of related incidents and service requests
• Assist in the production of High and Low Level Design through to sign off and delivery.
• Document detailed plans for the delivery of technical platforms, non functional testing and the results
• Identify opportunities within the infrastructure for improvement and consolidation
• Identify opportunities for service improvement and team efficiency
• Actively contribute to Service Operation, Service Transition and Service Design related processes
• Produce any relevant periodic reporting related to the Technical Operations Department
• Play a major role in the Server and Database team – contributing to the effective and efficient maintenance of the IT estate
