New Requirement! – IT Programme Delivery Manager – Herts, Contract

IT Programme Delivery Manager. Based in Hemel Hempstead, my client has a new contract requirement for an IT Programme Delivery Manager. You must be pragmatic, able to work without recourse to a PMO, across a range of projects. The IT workstream sits within a post merger integration programme integrating two companies with different IT landscapes. Decisions have already been made on preferred applications (where one company’s systems will be rolled out to the users of the other) or where hybrid approaches are necessary. Maximum impact of any of these projects will be on c.300 users.

Responsibilities as follows:

• Lead the IT projects within a Post Merger Integration Programme, responsible to the IT Director.

• Reporting to lead stakeholders – weekly
a. CEO
b. Sales Director
c. Integration Programme Director
d. IT Director

• Chair individual IT Workstream steering committees – weekly
a. IT Project Managers report into this.
b. Own escalated issues/risks to bring to lead stakeholders

• Chair cross-functional steering group that works across the IT Projects – weekly

• Reporting – weekly
a. RAG status
b. Risk Management
c. Costs v budget
d. Issues
e. Schedule
• Need to have proven track record, at delivery, without extensive PMO support, able to report, drive for results, and not encumber the programme with overload of workshops and processes, working with in-house and external resources. In other words they need to have a practical delivery capability aligned to the scale of this programme, it is not a BT or government large scale project.

• Not responsible for
a. Commercial IT decisions/negotiations. (responsibility of IT Director)
b. Business change/business direction. (responsibility of business units)
c. Comms from workstreams (responsibility of workstreams)

• Current Workstreams/Projects within IT that will report to IT Programme Delivery Manager

• To liaise with 3rd party infrastructure consultants to adhere to an agreed road map for site maintenance and upgrades

Project Manager / Implementation Manager – delivering complex systems. Based in London (nearest tube – Westminster) my client has a new requirement for an Project Manager / Implementation Manager. You must have experience of delivering complex systems improvement projects using a six-sigma or other quality methodology approach, experience of Management Information System (MIS) implementation and the software/systems project lifecycle, experience of managing the transition from technical delivery to acceptance and ownership by business users is essential, some experience of project managing a delivery team including internal and external resources is also essential, Advanced knowledge of recognised project management methodology is essential, Proficient user of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and Visio is essential. Skills: Infrastructure Designer. Infrastructure Designer required to deliver technical expertise to an inflight project’s infrastructure and supporting systems. Updates of design documentation is required to reflect as-built status and to provide assistance and guidance to the technical analysts and engineers around the implementation of these elements. You will also need to work on SRM workflow design in preparation for DR/BCM Continuity. Should come from an operational background, historically supporting the listed infrastructure:
• VMware ESX, vSphere 5.5
• Microsoft 2008/2012 & RHEL 5.1/6.5 onwards OS Support Exposure (Systems Administration)
• Familiar with various DB platforms, mainly SQL & Oracle, but coverage of PostGresSQL is of considerable benefit

• Understanding of Firewall principals, and familiar in defining required firewall rule set requirements

• Desirable to have a VCP, MSCE which may have lapsed in the past couple of years.
• Candidate has previously occupied systems admin roles and has moved on to design.
