Skills: Infrastructure Designer. Infrastructure Designer required to deliver technical expertise to an inflight project’s infrastructure and supporting systems. Updates of design documentation is required to reflect as-built status and to provide assistance and guidance to the technical analysts and engineers around the implementation of these elements. You will also need to work on SRM workflow design in preparation for DR/BCM Continuity. Should come from an operational background, historically supporting the listed infrastructure:

  • VMware ESX, vSphere 5.5
  • Microsoft 2008/2012 & RHEL 5.1/6.5 onwards OS Support Exposure (Systems Administration)
  • Familiar with various DB platforms, mainly SQL & Oracle, but coverage of PostGresSQL is of considerable benefit
  • Exceptional understanding of Enterprise Application Stack
  • Exceptional understanding of Infrastructure components
  • Understanding of Firewall principals, and familiar in defining required firewall rule set requirements
  • Considerable working knowledge of IPv6/IPv4, and general networking in principal (especially in multi-tier applications and complex systems)
  • Understanding of secure systems design is of benefit as well.
  • Desirable to have a VCP, MSCE which may have lapsed in the past couple of years.

New Requirement! – OSS Implementation Engineer – Hampshire, Contract

Skills: OSS Implementation Engineer – This is an engineering role within the Operational Support Systems Engineering team. This role will be part of the team working on delivering Smart Metering and Smart Water Networks programme. The key focus of this particular role is to develop low level designs, implement and commission the IT OSS environments in line with the defined architectural standards meeting the requirements of Network Management Centre and of the  IT Operating Model. Previous experience of Network Management systems in a Broadcast or Telecoms environment. Experience of products such as OpenNMS, HP Openview, SolarWinds applications. Management or awareness of VMWare virtualization software and VBlock hardware is also desirable. At least 3 years experience in design or implementation of OSS solutions or service management as an IT Engineer/Specialist

 

You must have:

  • Appropriate technical qualification – Degree or HND/C in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Computer Science or relevant experience.
  • Experienced in the design, delivery and management of OSS.
  • Experienced in OSS and BSS architecture
  • Experience in producing IT OSS High Level Design and Low Level design (HLD, LLD)
  • Experience of supplier and customer management with good customer-facing skills

 

Role involves:

  • Working as part of the IT OSS workstream in the IT Integration project , work with key stakeholders to understand their requirements and ensure that the OSS solution is designed and implemented to meet or exceed these.
  • Ensure delivery of design packages for OSS to time / cost / quality criteria
  • Provide specifications, scope of works and method statements to ensure design packages and project work are delivered in accordance with quality and security policy requirements
  • Produce a Low Level Design based on High Level Design requirements
  • Propose improvements to OSS solutions to improve quality and reduce costs for effective life time asset management
  • Where required manage OSS sub-contractor and supplier delivery in accordance with requirements, including product testing and commissioning through FAT, SAT and system integration phases to final handover
  • Work closely with the OSS Test Team and manage snags and defects as required.
  • Ensure that policies and procedures for handover of new OSS solutions are complied with including all training requirements
  • Provide progress reports as require for governance purposes
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with all key stakeholders

Project Manager – Wireless Device Delivery. Key experience should include:

  • 5-10 years experience of Project Management of wireless device delivery.
  • Management of suppliers including electronic equipment manufacturers

  • Business analytical skills to ensure requirements are fully captured and understood
  • The person should be a self-starter who is comfortable taking ownership of a high-profile project, and will identify and resolve issues quickly.

 

Role involves:

  • Work with the Head of CH programme and the CH project manager to ensure that  the Communications Hub solution is delivered to time, specification & budget, ensuring risk is managed with suitable mitigation actions being managed throughout all project phases.

Skills: Microware Engineer. This is an engineering role within the I.T & Technology group, working in the Network Engineering team, to provide high and low level detailed Microwave link designs/solutions and pre sales technical expertise to customers for applications received from the internal customer requests. This will include working with technologies such as PDH, SDH, Ethernet, IP, & DWDM, MW radio solutions using multiple vendors of both telecoms lines and Microwave equipment.

In the role the individual will provide technical assistance and support on specialised areas of network engineering design. The individual will be involved in the evaluation, design and costing of Microwave components as well as assisting with the capacity management of Telecoms & Microwave Networks. The role requires that solutions are designed and costed accurately following company governance. This will entail working alongside B&M, GME, Project Management, Business Operations and Suppliers to produce professional and accurate design solutions and associated documentation.

 

You must have:

 

  • Telecoms qualifications or equivalent in a technical discipline or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge.
  • Experienced in the design and costing of Microwave products & systems preferably from a Telecoms Network background
  • Good working knowledge of transmission technologies including PDH/SDH, Ethernet/ATM
  • PC literate (Microsoft Office Suite – in particular Excel)
  • Excellent numerical skills & attention to detail.

New Requirement! – Transition Analyst – ITIL – Hampshire, Contract

Transition Analyst – ITIL – ITIL v3 Service Transition Lifecycle & ITIL v3 Release Validation and Test Capability. Role is to support systems and process testing activities across all projects, ensuring that they are planned, executed and documented sufficiently to demonstrate delivery of customer and service management requirements and meet contractual milestones. To ensure that the M2M service management teams are ready to operate and support ITIL-aligned processes that deliver quality services to customers and align with existing operations. Duties include:

  • Coordinate user acceptance test plans and activities within the key milestones of the overall project plans
  • Provide single point of contact for the BSS and OSS work stream leads for UAT related activities
  • Co-ordinate the production and execution of test scripts, including entering scripts and results in JAMA and booking test resources
  • Produce formal work packages to request work from key test contributors
  • Support the test planning by liaising with systems and process delivery teams and the users and ‘actors’ required to execute the tests (executors), within customer and supplier organisations
  • Ensure test scripts are complete, in the correct location and accessible to all executors
  • Assist with the provision of data (e.g. scripts, assignment groups, categorisation, workflows) for testing
  • Ensure all executors are briefed on their role and have confirmed their availability for each test
  • Ensure that all relevant environments are booked for testing and that executors have appropriate permissions to perform the tests
  • Ensure that any changes to availability of systems or executors are fed back into the plan and appropriate adjustments and communications made
  • Support test execution by ensuring that all executors are in place on time and able to access the tools required
  • Participate in and lead test gateway reviews
  • Deputise for other transition analysts as necessary
  • Assist with the collection and collation of test results and the entry into the Jama requirements tracking system and JIRA defects tracking system
  • Provide reports on test progress, status and outstanding issues and remediation activities
  • Support the remediation stages by coordinating use case and test script updates following process amendments
  • Assure the quality of work provided by 3rd party relating to processes and systems testing
  • Facilitate and participate in process and systems workshops relating to testing
