Skills ITIL Change and Release Manager, ITIL v3 Service Transition Lifecycle & ITIL v3 Foundation.

You must have:

  • ITIL v3 Foundation
  • ITIL v3 Service Transition Lifecycle certificate
  • Experience designing, testing and implementing Change and Release processes
  • Experience designing, delivering and managing policies, processes, procedures and work instructions in line with customer and business requirements
  • Experience contributing to the design and configuration of a new service management system (preferably Remedy v8)
  • Experience promoting Change and Release processes to a naïve or reticent audience
  • Ability to adapt quickly and appropriately to changing goals and circumstances
  • Ability to make appropriate decisions and apply good judgment
  • Ability to influence and inspire others to drive collaboration

 

Role involves:

  • Transition the Change and Release processes and procedures to fulfil customer and business requirements
  • Ensure that project delivery deadlines and quality levels are met
  • Ensure that changes to the Smart services and Smart Metering network components are controlled and appropriately recorded/assessed/approved/rejected/communicated to minimise impact to customers and other services
  • Ensure that relevant detail about Configuration Items is gathered, recorded, verified, updated and controlled to enable the CMDB to be referred to by all stakeholders for reliable decision-making
  • Ensure that Release Management processes control the release of services and service components into the live environments, supporting the effective and efficient implementation of change
  • Work with subject matter experts and test teams to maximise effectiveness of firmware releases to over 10 million end-point communications devices across the country
  • Liaise with internal, customer and supplier stakeholders to agree interfaces, communications plans, templates, OLAs and escalation points for all CCR activities
  • Work with other business units’ change, config and release teams to agree consistent, complementary processes and supporting systems configurations
  • Build relationships with stakeholders in project and technical teams to ensure process understanding and compliance
  • Monitor effectiveness of process and address non-adherence, providing coaching as appropriate
