Java Developer – Struts. Based in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire my client has a new requirement for an Java Developer with Struts experience. Working across the whole development life cycle, as the Java Developer you’ll be working in a company that encourages a strong work life balance.

 

The ideal Java Developer will have the following:

Roles involves:

  • Proposing and delivering solutions to meet the needs of colleagues in relation to their business processes \ operations, by designing application functionalities to support users’ needs.
  • Define business requirements in a functional specification and align these with the capabilities of the systems; and implement said requirements \ models \ specifications using provided application framework and tools.
  • Identify, develop and implement improvements to system capability, working with the business and systems teams to identify solutions that align with a group wide orientation.
  • Configure and test potential solutions, engaging the business to ensure the best outcome.
  • Implement agreed changes with the business, ensuring that maximum benefit is obtained across the group.
  • Support business process owners through the change process, ensuring education and training completed to deliver successful projects.
  • Write system documentation for developments.
  • Maintain existing developments, identifying bugs, fixing them and updating system documentation.
  • Work in team with other developers and increase their knowledge in framework related technologies.
  • Steers contribution of the overall framework (new Java technologies etc) evolution.
  • Participate in BI system development requiring specific user interface.
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for application issues.

New Requirement! – Full Stack C# ASP.Net Developer with strong JavaScript – Work from Home! – Herts, Perm

My client based in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, have a brand new requirement for a C# ASP.Net Developer – Full Stack with the option of working from home after training and travel to the office on ad-hoc basis only. You must have:

 

  • Solid experience of C# .NET and ASP.NET.
  • Strong Front End skills in JavaScript, HTML, CSS and jQuery.
  • Solid experience of browser based technologies like Angular2, React and Vue.
  • Experience of relational databases in particular Microsoft SQL Server.
  • A great enthusiasm for creating quality software in particular creating systems which are elegant, extendable, and sustainable over the long term.
  • Demonstrable experience of working with modern web based frameworks and tool chains.
  • A strong ability to work on own initiative and achieve timely results.

 

 

The role is primarily a systems developer and is mainly concerned with providing a web based framework which allows other developers to create line-of-business applications. You will predominantly work with the development manager to extend and enhance the framework to meet new requirements and new industry standards in a constantly evolving process with high demands from across the group. In particular you will focus on UX and providing a set of tools which allow the creation of engaging and modern applications across all device types. New Requirement! – PMO – London – Perm

PMO. Based in London (nearest tube station – Chancery Lane) my client are looking for an PMO for an initial 12 months Fixed Term contract  (You will be on my clients payroll paying £60k pro-rata –please do not send in your CV if you are looking for a daily or hourly rate, this role would suit someone who is available now or at short notice). I am looking for an experienced PMO with excellent Change Management skills and experience in delivering/implementation of a new office or office relocation. You must have:

 

  • 5 + years’ experience in project delivery/PMO.
  • Knowledge and application of a formal project methodology – MSP/Prince 2 qualification.
  • Proficient in MS Project.
  • Ability to collaborate across a broad range of stakeholders in a partnership environment.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Budget management.
  • Proficiency in drafting reports.
  • Personal authority, independence, robustness and resilience
  • Sharp business acumen, including the ability to assess risk.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of all aspects of the PMO – planning, budget tracking, risk and issues management and weekly reports.
  • Extensive project planning and ownership of the delivery plan.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date, accurate and complete view of all workstreams by carrying out weekly meetings with workstream leads to report on deadlines.
  • Challenging workstream leads if deadlines are not being met.
  • Engage, report and present to senior stakeholders on progress of projects.
  • Enabling informed and timely decisions to be made on plan, within budget & scope whilst also reporting on the issues and risks involved.

New Requirement! – SQL DBA with Infrastructure Support skills – London, Perm

Skills: SQL DBA with Infrastructure Support skills. Based in London (nearest tube – St Paul’s or Blackfriars) my client are recruiting for SQL DBA (with core skills in SQL – tuning, patching, configs, restore, backups) and with some infrastructure skills in Windows Server, Application trouble shooting, SAN Storage, VMware, Oracle databases, Projects and Change Management. The role is roughly split between 60-70% of your time on SQL Server and the rest, infrastructure support when required. My client has a small team so you be expect to have a lot of interaction between network, storage, VMware and databases.

 

 

You must have:

  • Experience in SQL Server 2008-2012 (moving towards SQL 2016/2017) administration of production systems including: development / change processes, version control, housekeeping, capacity planning and tuning, and data maintenance.
  • Infrastructure skills in Windows Server, Application trouble shooting, SAN Storage, VMware and Oracle databases.
  • Experience of relational database design or management.
  • Experience of structured problem solving and debugging techniques.
  • Strong technical aptitude and good inter-personal skills.

 

Role involves:

  • To manage and administer the business application databases used with agreed procedures and controls.
  • To provide support in the implementation and maintenance of agreed standards and procedures for the database technology in line with the requirements.
  • Change Management skills – you will have responsibility for approving live implementation from DB/App point of view.
  • To manage and apply changes to the technology architecture in accordance with agreed standards and procedures.
  • To monitor the efficiency and integrity of the application services to the business.
  • To proactively research and make recommendations for improvements to the technology architecture and processes.
