New Requirement! – 1st Line Service Desk / Helpdesk – Herts, Contract

1st Line Service Desk / Helpdesk. My client based in Watford are looking for 1st Line Service Desk / Helpdesk person for an initial 1 months contract with possible extensions. This contract will fall inside IR35 so ideally I am looking at contractors with an Umbrella company already set up.

Role includes:

  • New users using MS Active Directory and relevant applications.
  • 1st Line contact on all hardware and software support calls.
  • Escalation of support calls and management of Helpdesk software.
  • Configuration and Installation of desktop and laptop computers.
  • Manage the off boarding of users using checklists.
  • Provide support for user and office relocations.
  • Daily / weekly backup software management.
  • Printer management and basic troubleshooting.

 

You must have:

  • Similar 1st line IT Support experience
  • Excellent verbal and face-to-face communication.
  • Windows desktop environment and applications (including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel).
  • The ability to work on own initiative and be flexible.
  • To be able to work efficiently and accurately.

New Requirement! – SQL DBA – London, Perm

SQL DBA. Based in London (nearest tube – Tottenham Court Road) my client has a new requirement for an SQL DBA. My client offers generous holiday allowance, superb working culture, relaxed environment and working hours of 9.45-18.00 Monday to Thursday and 10.00 to 18.00 on Friday office hours.

 

You must have:

  • Around 2-3 years experience in an SQL DBA role administrating and managing SQL databases.
  • Disaster Recovery and experience of implementations including mirroring, clustering, log shipping.
  • Knowledge of T-SQL for database maintenance and data manipulations/queries.
  • Database performance, troubleshooting and optimization.
  • Understanding of database design and development.
  • Systematic and structured approach to problem solving.

 

Any Oracle databases experience would be a bonus!

 

Role involves the day to day operations of the current configuration of production databases, ensuring the business applications are supported/available, provide support to the application support/delivery manager.

New Requirement! – 1st Line IT Helpdesk / IT Support Engineer (Senior) – Merseyside, Perm

1st Line IT Helpdesk / IT Support Engineer – Senior. Based in Liverpool, Merseyside, my client has a new requirement for an 1st Line IT Helpdesk / IT Support Engineer. I am looking for someone with around 4 years in a similar role who is still hands on but would like a more senior role within a small team, to be the focal point/mentor/go to person and eventually become a manager over time.

 

Role involves:

 

  • Be the focal point and 1st line for all of IS/IT/communication requirements & issues.
  • Provide IT and Communications support, coordinate the IS/IT/Communications requirements and improve the use of IS/IT and communications.
  • 1st line support, answer calls and respond to e-mail.
  • Assist with the upgrading & implementation of all applications and hardware systems.
  • Perform user joiner / leaver instructions.
  • Take ownership of user incidents, tracking incidents and following incidents / request through to completion.
  • Ensure the Service Desk maintains high level of service and cover, during business hours, weekends and Bank Holidays.
  • Adhere to Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) and produce KPI’s for the team.
  • Ensure that and early/late and weekend rota is coved and provided for the business operations, including bank holidays.

 

The role does have a slight shift pattern on a 7 hour day covering the working hours of 8.00 to 16.00, 9.00 to 17.00, 10.00 to 18.00 and some out of hours weekend work on a rota systems that can be covered from home.

New Requirement! – Application Support / IT Support – Herts, Perm

Application Support / IT Support. Based in Hemel Hempstead/Herts, I have a brand new requirement for a Application Support person although my client would consider candidates from an 1st Line/IT Helpdesk background looking to move into an Application Support role. This role is mainly IT/Application support over the phone rather than email/remote so you must have excellent communication skills / clear telephone manner.

 

You must some of the following:

 

  • Previous experience in working on a call desk/contact centre in a technical environment.
  • Understanding of MS Windows (XP, 7, 10) and MS Server (2005 – 2016).
  • Working knowledge of SQL database’s – To write/run simple queries in database.
  • Experience in providing Application support (within a bespoke environment – preferred).
  • Active Directory.
  • Basic understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, Firewall, Routers, switches).
  • Experience in using remote support tools such as TeamViewer, RDP, Dameware.
  • Experience with the installation and configuration of IT systems.
  • Ability to learn or understand basic electrical/mechanical devices.

 

Role involves:

  • Answering calls in a professional manner and in a timely fashion.
  • Be the first point of contact for technical queries/calls and perform immediate troubleshooting.
  • Logging details of customer incidents while ensuring that accurate information is obtained.
  • Managing the allocation of calls to 2nd line team to achieve departmental SLA’s.
  • Actively monitor/update open calls with a view to progression/closure.
  • Provide knowledge and development to contact center to enhance ability to provide first time fix.
  • Support other internal departments on 1st line technical issues.
  • Support field queries from engineers and assist remotely.
  • Ability to document data and create instructions/methodologies which is easy to understand.
  • Assist with installations/implementations when required.
