Infrastructure Engineer with emphasis on VMWare. Based in London (nearest tube station- St Paul’s) my client are recruiting for Infrastructure Engineer which you will be primary responsible for my clients VMware estate. Please note this role is 100% office based and offers no WFH.

Working in a small environment, the purpose of this role is to administer, develop & provide an efficient infrastructure technology architecture supporting the use of VMware, application software & providing additional support to database technology & support services when required.

You must have/be:

• Experience of supporting VMware in a distributed environment.
• Experience of Microsoft Active Directory Services platforms, preferably in a financial institution.
• Experience of supporting Citrix Xenapp including rolling out new versions preferred.
• Exposure/experience of hardware support and build beneficia.
• Experience of structured problem-solving techniques and a highly motivated individual with a service driven attitude.
• Strong technical aptitude and good inter-personal skills.

Role involves:

• To provide administration & support services for existing VMware services for in house & hosted environments.
• Recommend, plan & design changes to the VMware virtualisation infrastructure to address the requirements of the business.
• To ensure optimum performance and availability of VMware hosted servers through monitoring and pro-active maintenance and housekeeping .
• To provide VMware, Citrix & additional technology monitoring, including regular information reports, analysing performance and capacity profiles.
• Performing investigations & taking ownership of operational problems or development and developing and preparing solutions.
• To action production support requests, as required, in a timely and effective manner, in accordance with agreed Change Management and Support procedures.
• To maintain security and integrity of the production and development environments.
• To provide rota on-call support for VMware and/or recently implemented solutions

1^st /2^nd Line IT Support Engineer. Based in Manchester City Centre, my client has a new requirement for for an 1^st /2^nd Line IT Support Engineer. You must have around 1 to 2 years experience within an IT Support / 1^st / 2^nd Line IT Support / Helpdesk (actually resolving calls), with technical skills in Windows 7/Windows 10, Active Directory (password resets etc), MS Office, basic networking, good problem solving skills, clear & concise telephone manner. You must also have a flexible approach to working hours as the role does require out of hours support and weekend work.

You must have:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Good analytical and organisational skills.

My client would be happy to consider an Infrastructure Engineer with good Azure experience ready to step into a more Azure focused role / SME role. Role involves:

• Be the focal point for the businesses in respect of IT Azure / Communication requirements & issues.
• Cost optimisation, efficient running & service delivery of all cloud services.
• Professional second line support for all businesses in respect of IT Azure, requirements & issues.
• To study & obtain the certification required for Azure service excellence and compliance. 
• Assist to maintain documentation & manage a schedule of line of business applications.
• Maintain documentation & manage a schedule of IT Azure services used.
• Assist with planning of patching in Azure & user desktops.
• Assist with the management of the Azure & Amazon Web Services cloud infrastructure.
• Optimise the use of existing Azure compute, licensing & consolidation, help identify and promote new Azure technologies, applications, and other solutions.
