Role is to:

  • You will be largely responsible for providing operational database services to the organization. This is primarily a production DBA role. Some of the primary responsibilities of this role would include owning, tracking and resolving database related incidents and requests, fulfilling requests and resolving incidents within SLAs, reviewing service related reports (e.g: database backups, maintenance, monitoring) on a daily basis to ensure service related issues are identified and resolved within established SLAs, responding to database related alerts and escalations and working with database engineering to come up with strategic solutions to recurring problems.
  • You will require a service oriented mentality, high sense of ownership of the problems and requests assigned, focus on managing and resolving issues in alignment with the SLAs, establishing and maintaining communication with technology customers to keep them updated with status of their requests, initiating and performing changes on production systems and proactively escalating any issues that cannot be resolved within the established timeframes.
  • Define, develop and execute strategies to ensure SQL services are delivered to best practice consummate with the risk and security demands of the business.
  • Ensure development teams across the business are supported such that queries against the SQL databases are optimised, including indexing and design support.
  • Deploy third party vendor database change scripts.
  • Troubleshoot service issues within the SQL services, including after-hours and weekend.

Skills: Programme Manager from an Service & Operational background. You must have extensive experience of leading change programmes in highly complex B2B environment and the personal credibility and stakeholder skills to influence at a C-level. I.e. they need to be able to represent my clients interests with large customer’s and supplier’s senior decision makers and also lead the strategic development of these programmes, they must also have experience of producing Board level strategy / briefing papers and business cases – You must have a track record of doing this from a Service and Operational background.

 

 

Role involves:

  • Lead the definition of business unit programme scope, goals and deliverables and produce the Programme Initiation Document.
  • Direct the planning of projects and work streams within the programme, ensuring the tasks and resources required are identified and each produces a comprehensive project plan establishing project timelines, dependencies and critical paths.
  • Establish and lead the cross functional and multi-disciplined teams, both direct and virtual, required to deliver the programme, agree allocation of activities and manage their performance throughout the programme.
  • Plan and agree the programme budget and control delivery costs across each project and work stream within the programme.
  • Define and ensure standards of delivery, product specification and documentation of 3rd party suppliers are aligned to programme requirement.
  • Define and implement programme controls and governance to ensure process, documentation, risks and issues and Health and Safety practice comply with best practice and ISO standards.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement, providing progress and status reports in line with agreed Communication Plans, including contribution at the relevant Steering Boards and through all agreed reporting mechanisms.
  • Manage key dependencies and interfaces between projects and work streams within the programme, resolving any issues escalated.
  • Provide guidance and support to the Project Management Community, leading best practice and driving continuous improvement.

Skills: Application Architect – Financial Services. My client based in West Midlands are looking for Application Architect with Financial Services experience. You will propose high level design options for potential solutions to business problems, and produce detailed applications designs, whilst also being expected to design appropriate transitional stages within the projects. You will ensure a business-wide understanding of how the Applications components of the IT infrastructure integrate and ensure that the impacts of proposed changes to Applications are understood by all appropriate staff.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • To play a role in the requirements gathering process for projects, such that architectural requirements are considered and documented alongside business requirements.
  • Design the way Applications will operate and interact with each other in order to meet the requirements of projects, including the design of solutions that offer interim benefits that can be delivered during the project journey.
  • Assuring solutions are in line with the Architectural Principles and documenting these solutions in the form of High Level Designs during the initial stages of the project, and once approved documenting the Detailed Designs in conjunction with the suppliers and technical teams.
  • Working with different departments across the business to ensure projects and plans are completed as designed.
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of how the Applications components fit together at a detailed level.
  • Input into the definition of the Target Operating Model by providing a strategic view of future use of Applications based on known and planned projects.
